2 people hit, 1 killed in crash on Beach Boulevard, police say

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — UPDATE 10 p.m.: The Jacksonville Beach Police Department responded to the crash in the 1200 block of Beach Blvd. at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday.

They found two people had been hit by a vehicle. A 59-year-old man was killed by the crash while a 60-year-old man had serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. The two victims have not been identified.

The traffic homicide investigators are at the scene and the driver of the vehicle is cooperating with their investigation.

The roadway will be blocked for an undetermined amount of time. All traffic is being rerouted eastbound at Penman Road and westbound at 10th Street.
