JFRD: Red Cross called for 2 adults, 4 children after townhouse fire in Bartram Park area

ORIGINAL STORY:

Two adults and four children were forced from their home on New Year’s Day after it went up in flames.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to the blaze in the 6300 block of Autumn Berry Circle around 7 p.m.

Crews got the fire under control in a matter of minutes. Neighbors say St. Johns County Fire Rescue also responded.

“It was shooting up through the front part of the roof over there. It was shooting up real high, but the guys, they took it down immediately,” witness Dean Juman said.

The Red Cross was requested to help those displaced. The state fire marshal was asked to investigate the cause of the fire.
