JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Sheriff Mike Williams announced Thursday the arrest of two suspects after an armed robbery of a Westside pawn shop in November.

Antoine Spight and Brandon Nicholson are being charged with robbery and kidnapping after the Sheriff said they held the store clerk at Treasure Chest Pawn off Cassat Avenue at gunpoint Nov. 16.

According to the report, the suspects stole 40 handguns and $100,000 worth of jewelry and cash and then took off in the employee’s car.

After a tip from First Coast CrimeStoppers, the sheriff’s office was able to locate and arrest Spight outside Atlanta on Nov. 20. Detectives said they recovered 26 of the 40 stolen handguns, which they believe were on their way in New York.

Brandon Nicholson was arrested on Nov. 25 at a Westside hotel after a brief standoff with police. JSO said there are still two unknown suspects on the run and 14 stolen handguns that have not been recovered.

“They don’t always leave the community,” Sheriff Williams said. “This is a unique case where the individuals are career professionals and profiting off of stolen handguns.”

The Sheriff added that there’s nearly 600 stolen guns on the streets in Jacksonville this year. Most of them he said come from unlocked cars.

JSO worked this case with the DEA and ATF and asked anyone with information about the other two suspects to call CrimeStoppers.
