JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting in the 8200 block of Philps Highway Friday morning.
Police say they received a 911 call around 2:30 a.m. about a person being shot in the Baymeadows Junction shopping center parking lot. When they arrived at the scene they found a 25-year-old man with gunshot wounds.
The man was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Police say he is expected to make a full recovery though.
Through investigation, police found that the incident escalated from a fight at a party that was going on at one of the businesses.
Police are talking to witnesses to try to get some suspect information. Right now police don’t have a description of the suspect or the vehicle they might have fled in.
