JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is dead after a motorcycle crash early Sunday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO said the single-motorcycle crash happened around 2 a.m. on the 4200 block of University Boulevard North.
A friend of the motorcycle rider was driving a little further behind him. The friend saw the motorcycle on the ground, turned around, and attempted life-saving measures until the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department arrived, according to JSO.
Police said the rider was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
According to JSO’s records, this is the 44th motorcycle fatality and the 189th traffic fatality in 2021.
