One dead in Arlington triple shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly triple shooting in the Arlington area Wednesday night.

Officers said at 8:35 p.m., someone called 911 to report gunfire heard in the 2900 block of Mansion Road near Merrill Road.

When police arrived to the area, they found three shooting victims inside a home: a 33-year-old man, a 34-year-old man and 52-year-old man.

Police said one of them died at the scene and the other two were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The homicide unit is investigating the incident, but, at this time, they do not have any information regarding a suspect.

JSO is canvassing the area for potential video and witnesses.

If you have any information, call police at 630-0500, or you can provide tips anonymously via Crimestoppers.

Action News Jax’s John Bachman sat down with Mayor Lenny Curry and Sheriff Mike Williams earlier this week to discuss the recent spike of violence in Arlington. We found that this year, murders are up 20% in Jacksonville.

When we asked if Arlington was a hot spot for crime Williams said the rise in crime for that area is unusual.
