NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. — Your chances of finding a message in a bottle at the beach are low, but they’re not zero.
“Aaron and I were out at Neptune Beach. We were doing some geocaching,” Taylor Ney said.
Friends Taylor Ney and Aaron Murray came across a glass bottle underneath a boardwalk in Neptune Beach on Monday. Inside the bottle, they found some letters.

They said the letters were pretty soggy but still legible.
It appears the letters were exchanged between three girls — Anna, Maddie and Laura — about their summer bucket list.
“It says go night swimming and surfing with glow sticks, go on mission trips or VBS. Get henna tattoos. Fill a kiddie pool with jello,” Murray said.
On that bucket list, we do see locations: New Smyrna and Ponce Inlet in Volusia County to our south; but it’s unclear if they live there or want to visit.
What we do know is the girls were in 7th grade at the time they wrote these letters. One of the letters is also dated June 6, 2014 at 11:50 a.m.
We went over the findings with the two boys who made the discovery, which included discovering a “BFF” pin or pendant in the bottle.
However, the trail ends there.
There are no last names and no certain locations, but the boys don’t want to give up.
They believe the girls are locals here and must be 20-21 years old now.
“So they probably forgot all about this, (it) might make their day to receive this once again,” Ney said.
