JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A place that provides housing for single women and families and transitional housing for men became the scene of a death investigation on Monday.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a man was found dead inside The Salvation Army shelter on West Adams Street in downtown Jacksonville.
At 6 a.m., officers were called out to the shelter after the man was found dead inside his room.

The medical examiner’s office is working to learn the cause of death. Police would not say if foul play is suspected at this time.
Investigators are canvassing the area for any potential witnesses and surveillance video.
