JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — 8 A.M. UPDATE:
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said two people were shot inside a bathroom at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Jacksonville Saturday night.
Both victims underwent surgery at UF Health, and one is in critical condition while the other is in stable condition, according to JSO.

Officers said they found one victim inside the bathroom when they responded to shots fired. They said the other victim ran and was later found on Bay Street and Market Street by other responding officers.
According to police, the shooting stemmed from an altercation inside the bathroom.
The suspect is an unidentified male and is still on the loose. Investigators are going through surveillance videos to get a better picture of the suspect and gather more information about the incident.
At the time of the shooting, Morton’s Steakhouse was hosting a private party, but it is unclear if anyone involved in the incident was a part of the event or a guest at the hotel.

JSO said several witnesses fled the scene after the shooting and asked that anyone with pictures and/or videos share them with police.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is responding to the Hyatt downtown at 225 E. Coastline Drive in reference to a shooting.
JSO is expected to hold a briefing with more information at an undetermined time.
