Jags fall to Bengals in Thursday night matchup, now 0-4 on the season

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jaguars kick off week four of the NFL’s 2021 season in Cincinnati, against the Bengals in a prime time matchup. Thursday night’s kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. at Paul Brown Stadium. You can watch live on Action News Jax FOX30.

The Jaguars are yet again looking for their first win of the season heading into tonight’s game 0-3. The Bengals are 2-1, coming off a 24-10 win in Pittsburgh.

Tonight, all eyes are on the two quarterbacks, Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow. The two will face each other for the first time on the NFL stage and being No. 1 overall picks is not the only thing they have in common.

They are also connected by Jags head coach Urban Meyer.

Meyer recruited Burrow to play at Ohio State, coaching him for three years at the university. Now it is Lawrence under Meyer’s guidance working to get the pair their first-ever NFL win.

Tonight’s game is even more significant for Lawrence, as four losses would tie the number of losses he had in his entire high school and college careers combined.

On another note, Jacksonville fans will see a new kicker on the field after Josh Lambo was ruled out for not-injury-related personal reasons. Matthew Wright, a free agent who played three games with the Steelers in 2020 joined the Jags practice squad this week and has been activated for tonight’s matchup.
