JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — It has been eight years since 17-year-old Jordan Davis was shot and killed at a Gate gas station at the intersection of Baymeadows Road and Southside Boulevard after an argument over loud music.
Michael Dunn was convicted of the murder. He was charged with first-degree murder while discharging a firearm, three counts of attempted second-degree murder while discharging a firearm, and one count of shooting or throwing deadly missiles.
Davis’s father remembers his son eight years later in a recent Facebook post.

Since Davis’s death, his mother, Lucy McBath, has become a U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 6th Congressional District. She is an advocate for gun control.
Today she posted a letter on Twitter to her son.

Davis’s death has also grabbed national attention. A documentary was created titled “3 1/2 Minutes, 10 Bullets.” The documentary focuses on Davis’s life, the murder and the legal battle that followed.
