One dead after shooting at apartment complex on Kernan Blvd.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — There has been a reported shooting at 3601 S. Kernan Blvd.

At 7:15 p.m. the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and Jacksonville Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a nearby parking lot where they found one adult male between the age of 20-25 with several gunshot wounds.

The victim was later pronounced deceased on the scene. Police have located one handgun on the property.

Police believe an argument occurred between the victim and the suspects.

A witness of the incident alerted police to a gold-colored SUV. Police discovered a vehicle that matched the description a short distance away and conducted a traffic stop.

The three occupants of the vehicle were taken into police custody as potential suspects. They are being interviewed by detectives.

A small portion of the apartment complex has been taped off and some residents are being escorted into the area.

Police urge residents to take precautions in the area as suspects could still be at large.
