JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — More dining options with local ties are coming to the Jacksonville International Airport next year.
Jacksonville-based chains Southern Grounds, Burrito Gallery, and Firehouse Subs are slated to open new locations in 2023, according to a news release from the Jacksonville Aviation Authority.

Southern Grounds, which recently opened its first location in Concourse A, will now also open a new location in the pre-security center court area, JAA said.
Action News Jax first told you in early 2020 of plans to bring Southern Grounds to the airport.
The newly announced Southern Grounds airport location will feature breakfast, lunch and dinner menu offerings, a full-service bar and a café experience that can seat up to 50 guests.

Burrito Gallery will be located near Gate A3 and will serve “a streamlined menu of its signature items,” JAA said.
Firehouse Subs will operate a location near Gate C3, offering both hot and cold specialty sandwiches. This location will replace Firehouse Subs’ current airport location, which will eventually close to make way for the construction of Concourse B.

“JAX is often the first and last impression a traveler has of Northeast Florida, so we want dining options to be representative of the community,” JAA CEO Mark VanLoh said in the news release. “These three brands are some of Jacksonville’s most recognizable and will provide the airport with much-needed local flavor.”
Construction on the restaurants is set to begin this year, JAA said.
