JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Detectives investigated a fatal shooting early in the morning on Sept. 29 at the corner of Pullman and West Ninth Street. The victim was 31-year-old Timothy Thomas.
Family members of the father of four are desperate for answers as the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office searches for a suspect.

Thomas’ mother, Robin Clemons, said Thomas was the life of the party. It’s a reminder that he won’t be here with Thanksgiving just around the corner.
“It’s not going to be the same with my son not being there. My son is the hype of the party. The hype of the holiday. He’s always happy and dancing,” she told Action News Jax’s Robert Grant.
It’s a pain all too familiar to the family. Robin’s husband died in gun violence years ago. His baby, Bryan Clemons, was also killed.
Clemons is also related to Gregory Dubose, who was killed in a hit-and-run on Arlington Expressway and Marcus Tanner, who was killed in Eureka Gardens.
Clemons’ sister was found dead in a hotel room. And she’s also close to the family of 19-year-old Larry Tould, who was murdered on Ken Knight Drive earlier in January
“I’m kind of one of the strongest ones in the family. But right now — I’m very weak. I’m very weak because this is my child,” Clemons said.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Transparency Page, there have been 95 murders so far this year. Action News Jax records show 326 shootings so far on the 323rd day of the year. Clemons calls for an end to the violence.
“I just want whoever killed my son to be taken off these streets before they end up killing another person; somebody else’s child.”
On Saturday, Thomas’ family will march through the neighborhood in search of answers with MADDADS, a group that supports victims of violent crimes.
