JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Voters will have the chance to hear from the two candidates facing off for Jacksonville’s open City Council seat.
Action News Jax Sunday hosted a debate with Nick Howland and Dr. Tracye Polson, who are the two candidates in the run-off election for the City Council At-Large Group 3 seat.
The seat was previously held by long-time Jacksonville politician, the late Tommy Hazouri.

Howland is a Navy veteran and executive director of The Fire Watch, a local nonprofit aimed at preventing veteran suicides.
Polson is a licensed clinical social worker and small business owner.
Early voting for the race is set to begin on Feb. 12 while the election itself will be held Feb. 22.

Action News Jax’s Tenikka Hughes moderated the debate and asked the candidates about issues such as growth, affordable housing, downtown development and police transparency.
