The Florida Department of Transportation says the eastbound lane of the Shands Bridge is closed, as they perform some repair work.
FDOT says a routine inspection was performed, which found a piece of grate that needs to be repaired. As a result, they have completely closed the eastbound lane. The recommended detour is the Buckman Bridge.
The westbound lane of the Shands Bridge remains open.
FDOT says they hope to have the eastbound lane open once again by rush hour.
