“We’re holding up. He was gone in a blink of an eye,” Mack’s great aunt Vivian Pinkney said.

Police said the teen was found dead in his his car on Lem Turner Road early Sunday. The family said he was leaving a party and was not the intended target.

Loved ones who gathered to Mack's funeral say they remember him as a dedicated and hardworking young man who had a dream of playing college football. He was set to do just that before his life was cut short.

“His life was taken way too early,” Ciera Mack, one of Mack's siblings, said at the funeral.

She said Mack had a bright future and left a mark on many people.

“I haven’t seen this many young people at a funeral,” Ciera Mack said. “Hopefully they’ll see this situation and make better choices and decisions.”

No arrests have been announced in Mack's slaying and his family is begging the community to speak up.

“It won’t bring him back,” Pinckney said, “but it will give us a little closure.”
