JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The family of a local father of two is speaking only to Action News Jax after he was shot and killed.
Police say 23-year old Markus Tanner was shot and killed near his home at the corner of Lakeshore Boulevard and Carder Street on Monday night.
Tears filled the eyes of Tanner's mother; she was too emotional to speak. But her sister Robin Clemons did talk.
“This is really hurting my family. It got our grandmother down. It got our whole family down. This really tore our family apart,” said Clemons.
Clemons said her nephew was walking near the intersection of Lakeshore and Carder, when they say someone came up to him and shot him, point blank. He died on the scene. Action News Jax cameras were there as police started looking for evidence.
“He was walking down the road. Somebody rode up on a bicycle, and was talking to him,” said Clemons.

Clemons said that person took off, leaving this family in pain.
"His twin, it's tearing him apart. I feel like I lost both of my brothers," said Shanetta Tanner.
“You have caused a lot of pain and hurt. I would like deeply for you to turn yourself in,” said Gwendolyn Dubose, Tanner's grandmother.
“We are going to get justice. God sits high and he looks low,” said Clemons.
Police are still looking for the suspect, but if you know anything call Crimestoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
The family has started a GoFundMe Page.
