FBI reveals why it raided Jacksonville Dr. Nikhil Nihalani's office

Action News Jax has learned why the FBI raided Jacksonville psychiatrist Dr. Nikhil Nihalani's office in February.

The FBI said the doctor was getting kickbacks from Total Lab Care, LLC to refer unnecessary urine samples for drug tests.

Jacksonville-based Total Lab Care has now settled a False Claims case agreeing to pay the government $212,500.

It has also agreed not to participate in any federal healthcare programs in the future.

Nihalani died suddenly in June from a heart attack.
