BAKER COUNTY, Fla. — A man was arrested Wednesday after troopers say he hit and killed a woman in Baker County.

Robert Jackson, 31, of Macclenny, was charged with second-degree murder, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The FHP said Jackson was driving a 2004 Honda Odyssey northbound on State Road 121 near Osteen Road as Christina Knox, 36, of Macclenny, was walking north on SR 121 on the right shoulder.
The Honda veered into the right shoulder and struck Knox, at which point Jackson left the scene and went to his home, according to the FHP.
Knox was pronounced dead at the scene, and Jackson was later located and arrested.
