The Florida Highway Patrol reported an accident occurred Saturday afternoon on State Road 20, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist after being ejected.
The incident reportedly took place at approximately 1:34 p.m., just east of Wippletree Road.
According to the crash report, a motorcycle was traveling westbound on State Road 20 in the right lane. At the same time, a sport utility vehicle was also heading westbound on State Road 20, in front of the motorcycle.

The collision occurred when the front of the motorcycle struck the right side of the sport utility vehicle’s rear bumper.
The impact caused the motorcycle to overturn and eject the 39-year-old male driver. Both the motorcycle and its rider came to a final rest on the right grass shoulder.
Tragically, the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.
The driver of the sport utility vehicle, an 80-year-old female did not sustain any injuries in the crash. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the incident, which likely contributed to her safety.
Investigations into the exact cause of the collision are ongoing, and it is not yet clear what factors may have contributed to the incident. Both vehicles involved in the accident have been secured for further analysis.
