FHP report says driver died after truck overturns on entrance ramp to First Coast Expressway

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 38-year-old man from Jacksonville died on Saturday when he lost control of his truck.

On Saturday, just before 2:00 p.m., troopers responded to New World Ave. and the First Coast Expressway (State Road 23).

The crash report said the driver of a white Mack truck lost control as he was turning onto the expressway’s southbound entrance ramp. The truck overturned.

When Jacksonville Fire and Rescue arrived they pronounced the driver dead at the scene.

The report indicated he was not wearing his seatbelt.

The Florida Highway Patrol had been at the scene of a fatal crash for several hours.
