SJSO: St. Johns County Deputy is ‘doing fine’ after motorcycle crash in Ponte Vedra

PONTE VEDRA, Fla. — Update: A St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson has said that the deputy is ‘doing fine’ this evening. If anymore information becomes available ANJ will continue to update this story.

Original Story: The Florida Highway Patrol has reported that a St. Johns County Sheriff’s Dupty sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle accident in Ponte Vedra on Tuesday afternoon.

According to FHP, the incident occurred at approximately 3:53 p.m. when a sports-utility vehicle was heading north on Palm Valley Road at Corridor Road South in the left lane.

Meanwhile, a St. Johns County Sheriff’s motorcycle was traveling south on Palm Valley Road at Corridor Road South amidst heavy traffic with emergency lights activated.

The driver of the SUV failed to see the oncoming motorcycle as they attempted to turn left onto Corridor Road South, resulting in a collision with the front of the motorcycle and leaving the deputy with serious injuries.
