Pictures were sent into our newsroom by an Action News Jax viewer, showing how the bathrooms at the Mayport boat ramp looked before they were cleaned earlier Friday.
"Underwear that's been in there for at least six weeks that I know of, toilet paper all over the floor, urinals full. The worst I have ever seen of any bathroom," said boater, Alan Shepard.
We waited near the bathrooms for three hours and watched only two people use them. Others said they avoid the bathrooms at all cost.
Shepard and Patty Greene are at the boat ramp every week and they both said the bathrooms are the worst they've ever used.
"I actually got sick when we went out on the boat after going to the ladies room. It was that bad," said Greene.
Rebecca Donovan said she and her husband saw the same trash on the floor of the bathroom for a week.
"It seemed like they were getting progressively worse," said Donovan.
The city said these bathrooms are cleaned by every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The city also said that citizens are strongly encouraged to report any conditions that are unsatisfactory by calling (904) 630-CITY.
