Financial help hotline for Florida renters, homeowners

NOW PLAYING ABOVE

FLORIDA — Over $120 million have been given to the state of Florida through the CARES Act to help with rental and mortgage assistance. A new hotline is opening Monday to help anyone with questions.

The money can be used for rental and mortgage assistance payments, emergency repair and new construction related specifically to a need caused by the COVID-19 emergency.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said the money will give Floridians peace of mind. Homeowners and renters can apply for the assistance through the State Housing Initiatives Partnership Program. The hotline, 1-888-362-7885, will open at 9 a.m.
