Fire at Dollar General in St. Johns County not suspicious, officials say

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The State Fire Marshal and St. Johns Fire Rescue are investigating a fire at a Dollar General in St. Johns County.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives joined the investigation.

Investigators said there doesn't appear to be a sign of forced entry into the building and no explosions were found.

The fire is not considered suspicious, said the State Fire Marshal's Office.

SJCFR responded  around 2:15 a.m. Monday.to the fire at the store, which is located near Murabella Parkway and SR 16.

The store was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The fire appears to have started at the back storage area, officials said.

No one was injured in the fire.

The store manager told Action News Jax reporter Russell Colburn that it's too early to estimate the damages and losses.
