JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The First Alert Weather Team is tracking a squall line of thunderstorms approaching our area from the west.
The line will move into our far western counties by 9 AM, the I-95 corridor/Jax metro by noon, and the beaches shortly after. Storms should be exiting offshore by 2-3 PM.

Main hazards with storms today will be gusty winds and brief heavy rain, but if any turn severe they will be capable of a tornado and/or stronger wind gusts capable of damage to trees/powerlines.
Quiet weather prevails after today’s storms, with a mild New Year’s Eve preceding a cooler start to January.
