First Alert Weather: Winter Storm Warning issued for Southeast Georgia, most of Northeast Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A First Alert Weather Day has been declared for Tuesday and into Wednesday morning as a rare Winter Storm Warning has been issued beginning Tuesday afternoon across much of our area.

Accumulating snow and ice are likely across Southeast Georgia and much of inland Northeast Florida into Wednesday morning.

A mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is likely across our viewing area Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Generally, inland Southeast Georgia will receive more snow, with greater ice accumulations possible near the Florida/Georgia border region, transitioning to a cold rain southeast of Jacksonville.

There are increasing chances for frozen precipitation across western Duval County early Wednesday morning after a period of very cold rain Tuesday night.
