After his arrest, First Coast High sent a robocall from the principal to parents saying, in part, "I am so disappointed to inform you that we have been notified that one of our teachers was taken into federal custody today."
Here's five key points from the FBI criminal complaint concerning Clark:
1. The FBI executed a search warrant at Clark's home at 6:02 a.m. on Thursday.
The FBI said Clark has lived at his current residence for around four years and previously lived in California, where he was a stay-at-home dad before going to college and obtaining a teaching degree. he currently teaches algebra at First Coast High. His listed age is 44 years old.
2. Clark is a U.S. Navy veteran.
The complaint said Clark served in the Navy for less than two years and received a less than honorable discharge. He reportedly was discharged for underage drinking.
3. He tried to call someone from his iPhone, but the FBI confiscated it.
The complaint said Clark wouldn't release his phone and told the FBI to "get a warrant." The FBI told him they already had a warrant, then took his phone.
4. Clark denied visiting illegal websites and denied using the nickname "Opie."
When asked if he had a Kik account, Clark said not "in several years" and denied having any nicknames. He was told that that his Facebook page had several posts in which friends called him "Ope." He said that it was an old nickname.
His wife confirmed that "Opie" was an old high school nickname of Clark's.
5. Clark tried to speak with his wife, but she refused.
The FBI told Clark that his wife of 20 years refused to speak to him. According to the FBI, his wife was shown an image of a penis and a towel, and she said, "That's my kitchen towel" and "that's him."
After agents interviewed Clark and his wife, the FBI contacted a federal attorney, who authorized Clark's arrest.
