JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department and other first responders are conducting joint active shooter training at Atlantic Coast High School and Celebration Church in E-Town.

According to the letter to parents from the Duval County School District, there is no access to the area except for those participating in training. As a result, there may be some traffic congestion coming off Interstate 295.

The school district said it wanted to let parents know, despite school being out, so that no one is surprised or alarmed when they see emergency vehicles.

Action News Jax’s Jessica Barreto is set to speak with Sheriff Waters and Chief Powers later Wednesday to find out more.
