The deceased driver has been confirmed as Erica Bergeron. According to Florida Highway Patrol, Bergeron was from Jacksonville.

Action News Jax sister station WFTV in Orlando said on Monday, emergency crews had found a car with a body inside in a Flagler County pond. Deputies said a crew noticed on Friday, Apr. 21, that a tree was knocked down near the pond on Creek Course Drive near Palm Harbor Parkway in Palm Coast. Investigators noticed tire marks leading to the pond, prompting dive teams to search the site on Monday.

Bergeron’s family had reported her missing after she failed to meet with her son on Sunday, Apr. 23. Video surveillance had captured Bergeron leaving the Palm Coast Lanes Bowling Alley on Old Kings Road.

When crews noticed the knocked-down tree near the pond on Friday, Burgeron was not reported missing yet.

WFTV said that deputies located a car in the pond with a body inside, but did not confirm if it belonged to Bergeron at that time. But they said the car pulled from the water did match the description of the vehicle she was last seen driving.
