The National Weather Service issued the flood watch for Monday, Aug. 29th. Locally heavy, potentially flooding rainfall is possible in areas that have already seen significant rainfall totals. Northeast Florida is dealing with saturated grounds and rising rivers.

On Sunday, widespread rainfall of 2-3 inches occurred near I-75 to Highway 301 corridors with scattered areas of 4-6 inches.

Potential Impacts

  • Localized flooding expected in urban, poor drainage, and low lying areas especially where grounds are saturated.
  • Minor street flooding possible over areas with swollen drainages.
  • Gradual rises along the Santa Fe and St. Marys rivers and potential quick rise along Black Creek.
