Flu activity is on the rise in Florida – with three local counties reporting outbreaks; Duval, St. Johns and Nassau.
Nearly every local county is also reporting an uptick in flu cases.
One child also died last week from the flu.
In Florida, 27 cases of the flu were reported this week.
According to the Florida Department of Health, a majority of the outbreaks were reported in elementary schools and health care settings.

Michael Euwema, an ER doctor at Orange Park Medical Center said he has seen an increase in the number of people coming in with flu-like symptoms.
“Our waiting room has been full, our hallways and chairs have been full, we’ve been using every space we have,” he said.
Health leaders expect an increase in flu activity for several more weeks.
