Nwaneri, who played at Purdue, was selected by the Jaguars in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft.
In 104 games with the Jags, Nwaneri only missed one game. He worked his way into the starting lineup where we protected quarterbacks like David Garrard, Luke McCown, Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne.
Nawaneri went on to play with the Dallas Cowboys in 2014 but was released before the start of the season.
Social media posts from the Jaguars organization to Tony Khan have mentioned Nwaneri, mourning his loss.

Rest In Peace, Uche Nwaneri. @Chukwu77 played 7 seasons with the @Jaguars, 2007-2013, and forged a strong bond with the Jags fans that's remained to this day.
