ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — Former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles is still part of #DUUUVAL ... sort of.

He just purchased a 0.7 acre piece of land right on the Intracoastal Waterway in Phase 1 of River Landing at Nocatee, according to St. Johns County Clerk records.

The deed shows Bortles purchased the lot for $2.2 million from the Hydry Company on May 2.

The taxable value of the land is $650,000, according to the St. Johns County Property Appraiser’s website.

The neighborhood, which is also known as River Landing at Twenty Mile, bills itself as “Nocatee’s most luxurious neighborhood” and its website states that Intracoastal homesites start at $1.2 million.

The deed also shows Bortles has a current residence in Ponte Vedra Beach. That home, which has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, is currently not for sale and has an estimated value of $5.4 million, according to Zillow.com.

Bortles is no stranger to Northeast Florida real estate. Action News Jax told you in January 2020 when Bortles sold his Jacksonville Beach beachfront home to the Sleiman family for $1.7 million.

Bortles was drafted by the Jags in 2014. In the 2017 season, Bortles led the Jaguars to the AFC Championship and was minutes away from the Super Bowl, but the team fell to Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

On the strength of his playoff performance, he was granted a three-year $54 million contract to stay with the team through the 2020 season. Instead, he ended up being released in March 2019.

Since then, Bortles has had stints with the Los Angeles Rams, the Green Bay Packers, the Denver Broncos and most recently, the New Orleans Saints. Bortles asked to be released from the Saints after the team signed QB Andy Dalton, so he is currently a free agent.
