Former JSO officer convicted of possessing child porn

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A former Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office corrections officer was found guilty of four counts of possession of child pornography.

Leon Perry Brooks, Sr., 40, now faces a maximum of 10 years in prison for each count.

A JSO detective in the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force downloaded two child porn videos from an IP address that was registered to Brooks.

When police searched his home, they took several computers.  Two of the computers had several videos of minors engaged in explicit sexual conduct.

Brooks was indicted on December 2013.

A sentence hearing for Brooks has not yet been scheduled.
