Both neighbors told Action News Jax they want this feud to stop before someone gets hurt.

Oberry and Lussier, who describe each other as “neighbors from hell,” have posted inflammatory signs on their properties. One accuses the other of being a “pedophile,” while the other warns of a “peeping Tom.”

This ongoing battle is not only marked by these disturbing signs but also by vulgar social media posts, surveillance cameras pointed at each other’s yards, and an overwhelming number of 911 calls.

Both neighbors have used social media to bash one another, fueling the fire of their public feud. Oberry, who says he has always gotten along with others, feels personally attacked by Lussier’s accusations.

“I get along with everybody, and for them to come out there and trash my character when I feel like I want to go on and do something productive with my life, and I have those people over there lying,” Oberry said.

Lussier, on the other hand, is equally frustrated and wants it all to stop. “Stop posting about me, stop calling every freaking agency that they can think of,” she said.

The conflict has spiraled beyond just the two properties. In 2024 alone, there have been 16 pages of calls for service between the two homes, distracting law enforcement from other pressing matters. Despite these frequent calls, the dispute remains unresolved, with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office stepping in multiple times. A spokesperson for the office said, “We continue to monitor the situation as necessary and respond to any calls and complaints made.”

The neighbors can’t even agree on how the feud started. Oberry claims the conflict began four years ago when Lussier’s dog attacked and killed his dog. He says his pet was found mauled in the woods a day after it went missing.

“A day later, we found the dog mauled in the woods,” Oberry recalled. “Then it just got bad and worse ever since.”

Lussier, however, believes the feud began when she posted a public message about Oberry during his run for sheriff. She claims that his campaign and character led her to warn others about him.

“He ran for sheriff, and I posted a PSA about the type of people they are, and he got butt hurt about it,” Lussier explained.

The ongoing tension has led to multiple arrests on both sides. Oberry says his wife was arrested after an altercation with Lussier, and the legal trouble doesn’t end there. Both neighbors have run-ins with the law: Oberry has traffic violations and DUIs on his record, while Lussier has a criminal history that includes aggravated battery and burglary.

Despite the legal entanglements, Oberry wants to move on. He hopes to sell his property and leave the neighborhood, but Lussier’s calls to code enforcement have delayed that plan. He claims he now faces a year-long waiting period before he can put his home on the market.

Despite the years of bitterness and escalating tensions, both neighbors agree on one thing: they want the feud to stop.

When asked what would end the conflict, Lussier had a simple request: “Just leave us alone.”

Oberry echoed this sentiment, expressing a desire to move past the feud and resolve the issues that have soured their lives.

In the end, both Oberry and Lussier say they want peace, and they’ve even asked each other to stop posting harmful content online that damages their reputations. But as the standoff continues, it remains to be seen if the two can find common ground—or if the situation will only worsen.
