JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an armed battery at 3625 University Blvd. South in Jacksonville on Thursday, Aug. 22. A deputy was alerted of a "disturbance" in front of the ambulance bay, police say.
Deputies observed two school buses with a crowd of approximately 50 to 60 students and adults in disarray, according to the police report.
The bus driver said he did not witness the incident, but that a passenger pepper-sprayed another passenger, 13, and that he pulled into the emergency room parking lot because kids were trying to jump out of the bus.

Another witness advised that the suspect and victim she pepper-sprayed had been arguing over the course of several days at school. Another witness shared that a verbal argument took place before the alleged suspect pepper-sprayed the victim on the bus that day.
Hospital staff treated approximately nine kids for exposure to pepper spray.
The suspect was issued a juvenile civil citation.
