The investigation began back in June when a member of City of Refuge Church filed a complaint against the pastor for allegedly having sex with a minor.

"When the glory of God shows up, everything else shuts down," said Pastor Daniel Hines in a church service at City of Refuge Mission.

Daniel Hines preaches and teaches about God at his church on Albermarle Street in Brunswick Georgia.

"I hear their great choir from our porch," said Ashby Worley.

Hines was named chief apostle just a few years ago.

"I was caught off guard like wow, it's right across the street. I've been thinking about getting up early to go to worship over there, but I never get up early enough, "said neighbor Angel Sullivan.

Hines turned himself over to police Wednesday.

One of his church members reportedly told police Hines was involved in a sexual relationship with a child under the age of 16 back in June.

"You've heard stories about this in the Catholic churches," Sullivan said.

Neighbors were shocked.

"Anything done to kids that has no business done to kids I feel like they should never let you out of jail," added Sullivan.

"Hopefully this will be looked into and taken seriously because it's a serious issue," Worley said.

Glynn County Schools confirmed to Action News Jax Hines has worked as a bus driver for the last two years.

Now, some parents are on high alert about who is taking their children to school.

"I just pray that nobody ever does anything to my kids because there is no telling what I might do," mentioned Sullivan.

"It's definitely concerning and scary for not only the neighborhood but for the children, church and everyone involved," Worley added.

Glynn County Schools says Hines is now on paid administrative leave.

Action News Jax is working to learn what may have taken place and where the incident occurred.

Since Hines arrest the church's phone number has been disconnected, and both the church's and Hines' personal Facebook accounts were deleted.

Hines is in the Glynn County Detention Center with no bond.
