Glynn County man arrested in father's death

A Glynn County man was arrested Saturday in the death of his father, authorities said.

Glynn County police officers went to 108 Stafford Ave. after a caller said four males were loitering in his yard.

When the officers arrived, Charles Workman Jr., 23, said told them he shot his father, Charles Lee Workman Sr.

Officers said they found Workman Sr., 65, lying on the living room floor with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The elder Workman was taken to Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center in Brunswick, where he was pronounced dead.

Workman Jr. is being charged with murder. The investigation is ongoing.
