Jacksonville, FL. — Updated Story 12/14/2020: A man was found shot outside the Gold Rush Inn around 8:45 p.m. Sunday night according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Police say the man underwent surgery with life-threatening injuries.
The suspect ran away from the scene and has not been found. Police believe the two men knew each other and that there is no threat to the public.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
Original Story 12/13/2020: More than a dozen police cars outside the Gold Rush Inn on Harts Road.
Councilman Reggie Gaffney (District 7) is at the scene as well.

The victims condition is unknown.
Councilman Gaffney was just recently picketing outside the Gold Rush Inn a couple weeks ago to have it shut down.
He says drugs are causing a lot of problems and there’s a shooting almost weekly.
He’s currently working on legislation to have it shut down as a nuisance.
