Hurricane Irma: Atlantic Beach business offers sand for sandbags

The City of Atlantic Beach and a local business are offering free sand and sandbags in preparation for Hurricane Irma.

City officials said a limited quantity of sand is available for Atlantic Beach residents at the Jack Russell Park skate park. The limit is 10 bags and residents must bring their own shovels, officials said.

Jennifer Holdeman, owner of Jax Dirtworks Inc., said her business also has sand for sandbags.

The sand is located in the cul de sac on Mealy Street.

Holdeman plans to keep the sand stocked until Saturday evening.
