JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — According to a report from the US Census Bureau, Jacksonville is one of the top 10 fastest-growing cities with populations over 50,000.

Between July 1, 2017, and July 1, 2018, Jacksonville's population increased by 12,153 people, bringing the total to 903,889.
Jacksonville ranked as the seventh fastest-growing big city. Phoenix took the top spot with an increase of 25,288 residents between July 1, 2017, and July 1, 2018.

Jacksonville also ranked as the 12th-most populous city in the nation, just behind Austin, Texas.
New York City sits safely on its throne as the most populous city in the nation, with a stifling 8,398,748 residents in July 2018. That's more than nine times Jacksonville's population on just over a third of Jacksonville's area.
