JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — As the nation continues to fight the spread of COVID-19, some health care professionals are having a tough time finding medical supplies.
“It’s really scary because we are on the front line and we are at risk, but we are doing what we need to make sure everyone is taken care of,” said Anjee Wiggins, a nurse.
It’s already a tough job, but not being able to find the tools you need makes it even tougher for people in the medical field.
“I go to the store every day to find the supplies that I need and can’t find any,” said Wiggins.
Action News Jax saw Wiggins’ Facebook post this week asking for help finding masks and gloves. She’s a nurse who takes care of the elderly in their homes.

“Last couple of days it’s been really hard for us to find masks, gloves and things we need to take care of our patients,” Wiggins said.
Two days of the week, she also works at a facility where she said the supplies are running low.
“There’s over a 100 employees with the agency I work for, and we are struggling to find them,” she said.
It’s a big fight around the country. The Nurse Practitioners Group made a plea to President Donald Trump and said it “urgently needs personal protective equipment.” The association represents nearly 300,000 nurses.
Wiggins said she hopes people only take what they need.
“Help us help you. We can’t help you if we don’t have the proper equipment,” she said.
