JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — As Hurricane Dorian approaches the Jacksonville area, many local counties are beginning to experience power outages.
Updated Sept. 5, 5 a.m.:
Duval County - JEA is reporting less than 5 customers without power in Duval County. The majority of the outages are in the Five Points area.
St. Johns County - Florida Power and Light is reporting 2,091 customers without power throughout St. Johns County.
Clay County - Clay Electric said 38 customers are affected in Clay County.
Putnam County - Florida Power and Light is reporting 88 customers without power in Putnam County.
Georgia Power - Georgia Power is reporting 427 customers without power in Action News Jax's viewing area.
Updated Sept. 4, 7: 30 a.m.:
St. Johns County - Florida Power and Light is reporting 2,696 customers without power throughout St. Johns County.
Duval County - JEA is reporting 984 customers without power in Duval County. Several of the outages are near J. Turner Butler and Hodges boulevards. There is also an outage near Mayport Rd. affecting over 800 customers.
Clay County - Clay Electric said 1 customer is affected in Clay County is being affected by a power outage, mostly near Black Creek.
Putnam County - Florida Power and Light is reporting 37 customers without power in Putnam County. Clay Electric reported 2 customers without power in Putnam County as well.
No other counties are reporting outages at this time.
