In a 48-hour period, eight people were shot this weekend in Jacksonville.
Two people died. And this doesn't include the mother of three who was shot and killed in the McDonald's drive-thru on Baymeadows Road.
The weekend of violence started at 2 a.m. Saturday when the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrived at Wacko's Gentlemen's Club. Police said a man had smashed his black Camaro into a vacant business across the street after being shot at multiple times by an unknown gunman.
A friend of the victim said he was shot in the head.

At about 6 a.m. that same day, JSO responded to a call in Lincoln Hills and found a man who had been shot multiple times. Police said his injuries were non-life-threatening.
The family said a nephew had shot his uncle, and that both individuals were mild-mannered -- the young nephew had no violent propensities.
Family members say they have no idea why there was a shooting in a peaceful neighborhood. They say both individuals were mild tempered, a nephew shot his uncle, and the young nephew had no violent propensities. I’m not going to show a picture for this post to preserve privacy.
