JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A deal between the Jacksonville Housing Authority’s top CEO candidate and the board has been derailed.
George Guy withdrew his name for the position, sending the following email to the board:

“Jacksonville Housing Authority Board of Directors,
“Thank you for the opportunity to explore the possibility of joining the Jacksonville Housing Authority. I would like to withdraw from consideration for the President/CEO position. I wish to express my deepest gratitude to the board of directors and wish you all the best in your search.
“Regards, George Guy”
Action News Jax’s Ben Becker told you Wednesday there were issues with some of the demands in his draft contract including relocation, vacation time, and what would be considered grounds for termination.
The board will meet again Tuesday to negotiate with another candidate.
We have been investigating issues at JHA for more than a year. That includes two CEOs resigning, at least five inspector general investigations, and the former deputy CFO being arrested for credit card fraud.
