JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville Jaguars' Gardner Minshew II, the quarterback that took over for Nick Foles after a collarbone injury during a game against Kansas City, has been named NFL's Rookie of the Month.
Here's why, according to the Jacksonville Jaguars:
- During the month of September, he completed 84 of 121 passes for 905 yards, seven TDs and one INT for a passer rating of 106.9.
- His 69.4 completion percentage and 106.9 passer rating are both the fifth-highest in the NFL this season
- He threw for more than 200 yards and posted a passer rating of at least 95.0 in each of his first four contests of his career during September
- He's the only quarterback in the NFL to achieve the feat in all four games to open the 2019 season.
Minshew is the first Jaguars player to be deemed Rookie of the Month since Clint Ingram of 2006.
