Jacksonville Jaguars super-fan going to Week 16 matchup against New York Jets after PowerPoint

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — When Jacksonville Jaguars super-fan Pedro Amador asked his wife to go to the team’s Week 16 away game against the New York Jets, she initially said no. So, Amador did what any rational super-fan would do and made a PowerPoint presentation.

The presentation was over a minute and a half long and ended up gaining significant attention on social media.

Amador says the attention the post ended up receiving was part of the reason his wife ended up allowing him to go the game, alongside some of what he called “bargaining chips.”

One of those bargaining chips is that Amador told his wife if she let him go to the game, she gets to choose the names of their two twin children on the way.

“Let’s hope she picks good ones. Maybe one of them will be Trevor,” Amador told Action News Jax with a laugh.

Trevor as in Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence of course. Lawrence is coming off an AFC Player of the Week award for his 318 yard and four touchdown performance in the team’s 40-34 overtime victory against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

“He is him,” Amador told Action News Jax emphatically. “That guy is dealing. The last month [Lawrence has] been first in the league in a lot of statistics.”

Amador will now get to see Lawrence sling the football against the Jets on Thursday night. However, it will also cost him financially, as he’ll be giving his wife his credit card during the trip for a shopping spree of her choosing as part of the deal.

“I’m very concerned about leaving the credit card,” Amador said with a chuckle. “She said for incidentals, but that probably means just like anything she wants. So I’ll be paying that off for a while.”

Nonetheless, Amador says it will all be worth it as long as his Jags walk away with the Thursday night win. The Jaguars will have some help as well … from Amador’s “playoff blanky.”

Amador says he found the “playoff blanky” or “rally blanky” in a Porta Potty at the Jaguars’ Week 14 away game versus the Tennessee Titans in Nashville. Ever since, Amador has kept the blanket with him at every game he goes to.

“And we beat the Titans and I took it back home with me and we also beat the Cowboys in overtime. So this is our memento,” Amador said. “I’m gonna take it to New York and it’s gonna get us a win.”

With the Jaguars just one game out of the AFC South lead with three regular season games remaining, Amador and Jaguar fans everywhere will be hoping for the “playoff blanky” to now lead the team to playoff glory. Next stop: New York.
