JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville man was arrested Tuesday, accused of aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office police report.

Bennie Jerome Casey, 54, allegedly was involved in a verbal argument with the woman that became physical.
The report stated that the pregnant woman told police they were arguing because Casey was begging for drug money in the neighborhood and she threatened to tell his girlfriend.
A witness at the home said Casey and the woman stepped outside the home. The witness then told police she heard the woman scream. The witness told police she got in between the two to keep Casey away from the woman, according to the report.

Police said the woman is 24 weeks pregnant and it was visible that she was expecting a child.
According to the report, the pregnant woman had a small cut on her lip and her phone was visibly broken.
Casey was arrested on an aggravated battery charge and a criminal mischief charge.
